Q: Does my child need any experience to join this program?
A: No, our Children’s BJJ classes suite for all experience levels. The vast majority of our students come into the gym with no prior experience. Your child will be taught exercises and techniques appropriate depending on thier skill level.
Q: Does a parent of guardian need to be present for the classes?
A: For the first class we would recommend that you watch for your own peace of mind and to help your child feel comfortable. You are certainly welcome to continue but it is not required. Iron Industry Gym also offer special group classes for parents while their kids are in BJJ classes. Why waste your precious one hour just to wait kids training? Iron Industry Gym offer the opportunities to all parents to join the family fitness program .
Q: Is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu safe? Will my child be getting hit?
A: Your child’s safety is our NO. 1 priority. Your child will never be punched, kicked or otherwise hit. With the nature of the martial art, supervision and Championship coach Dom, we are confident saying that our BJJ classes are safer than most conventional team sports. With the techniques and skills that your child will learn, your child will be safe in the gym and safer on the street and school ground.
Q: What ages does this program suite for?
A: There are two different ages groups – ages 5 to 9 & ages 10 to 15. Class transfer is also available depends on your kid’s level.
Q: What equipment does my child need?
A: First class, shorts and t-shirt is fine. Beyond that, they will require a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi (similar to a judo gi as is worn in The Olympics). Gis will be available for purchase at the Iron Industry Gym.
